Once known for their gold foil, Chipotle is laughing at “fast food” restaurants. The bold moved CEO of Chipotle Steve Ells could have regretted a statement he made towards fast food about three weeks ago, but in turn, him saying the fast food competition to him is “a joke.” The third quarter earnings were down for Wendy’s, McDonald’s, and Yum! Brands which played into Ells hands after he called these type of fast food restaurants a joke. While these unhealthy, processed fast food restaurants didn’t do well, Chipotle did well. They raised their net income, and had double digit sales growth. While McDonald’s is still trying to compete there latest campaign backfired on them. Wendy’s isn’t doing well either, they are going to enact a cost-cut that will offset its 20% decline in revenue. Same with Yum! Brands, they had a 14% drop just this quarter.
Chipotle is the new fad, fast, healthy, and great tasting. If these traditional restaurants don’t figure out how to compete with the new style of Chipotle, Panera Bread, and Jimmy Johns they could be gone in a matter of time.
I didn't realize Chipotle was a healthy place to eat, but I will check it out. I think that in the past few years, as the economy went down and health concern rose, many people are getting into buying food in bulk and cooking it themselves. Its a healthier and cheaper alternative to fast food.

Derrick,
Just some feedback - you need to embed these links. I do not want you to just copy and paste the links into the content area. Try to embed the link into a key phrase or keyword to optimize your site better for search engines. For example, you could say "Read the full article at BuzzFeed." and then link that sentence. Take a look at how Jordan Hardy links articles in her content - that's what I'd like your links to look like.
I have seen countless articles over the same thing! You are so right-- Chipotle has become THE place to eat here lately. They say our generation will be eating at places like this more so than traditional fast food restaurants. I wish we had one closer!
