The Super Bowl, one of the most watched live television events of the year. Last year my beloved Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos in a good old fashion whooping. The viewership was lower than previous years through, last years game peaked at 111.5 million people. It wasn't a close game but still was down from the year before when 117.7 million people watched the last 30 minutes of the football game, but that game was a little bit closer. So how much would you pay to have a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl? One million dollars? Three million dollars? How about four million dollars for a 30-second ad, that's right I said 30-second ad! An astonishing eight million dollars for a 60-second ad! So is it really worth it? It's worth it if you find that you earn your money back and a profit. I know a lot of people watch the Super Bowl for the ads only because companies work so hard on them and make them funny, or interactive, or they get you emotionally attached.
The Super Bowl ads are getting more creative, but are people actually paying attention to them? Are they going out and purchasing that bag of Doritos, or going to buy that pack of beer, because they say a funny commercial, or a commercial that got you attached. It appeals to most people because these companies are still paying millions and millions of dollars for a 30 - 60 second commercial.
