These BuzzFeed quizzes are great in my opinion, they are informative and entertaining. This quiz was on if you could tell the name of the food by looking at one letter. It’s great because it’s all based on marketing, if they company doesn’t market well consumers aren’t going to recognize their brand, and they won’t be successful. This quiz takes it to the next level though, it is recognizing a single letter, the color of the letter, the shape, size, even the back ground colors. Doesn’t matter if it’s bold, or italicized these are all factors that marketers want us consumers to cognitively recognize.
With this quiz we can tell how well marketers and advertisements are doing because people know what the products are. They know when they see an A, that is red with a line down the right side of the A it is a Canada Dry. It’s all because marketers have conditioned us to pay attention to the brand and instead of how it tastes. If you were to get a Canada Dry and compare it to different type of Ginger Ale they would probably taste nearly the same. But one would buy the Canada Dry because they recognize the label.
I got a 15 out of 26 on the quiz myself, I highly encourage you to go take the quiz and see how much marketers have played a role on your purchasing abilities with just the colors, and fonts. http://www.buzzfeed.com/nathanwpyle/can-you-score-a-26#ms9dok
