Apple, Andriod, and now Pebble. In world that is ran by Apple and or Android, Pebble is doing something neither of them have done yet. A smart watch that tracks ones sleep and activity from swimming to taking the stairs. CEO Eric Migicovsk things someone will put up their Rolex for one of his Pebble watches. That is a little far-fetched to me, because if I'm going to buy a Rolex, I'm going to wear it.
Pebbles advantages, battery, sleep, price. It's disadvantages are, well I've never heard of Pebble until looking at BuzzFeed for articles on business activity. Battery life for Pebble is a week! Seven times longer than the Apple and Android watches that need to be charged every night, which doesn't help with tracking your sleep when it's not on your wrist. With all the new innovations Apple and Android have had coming out with bigger, better, faster, smarter phones and tablets, they are now in the watch game. Which they haven't gotten into the new trend of sleep patterns, because neither of them can track one sleep. Which was a reason Eric pushed for getting a watch that had a battery that lasted so long because his sleep pattern wasn't good. A couple reasons to have a good sleep pattern is: one's health, productivity, creativity, and our decision-making skills all suffer when we don't have a sleep pattern. Price, $99 for the normal Pebble watch, that is cheap for a watch that has apps, can track one's sleep, and track one's activity. The more expensive watch is still only $199, which is about a fourth of the price of a new Apple watch.
All-in-all Pebble could be a watch I buy in the future, I try to get as much sleep as I can, and I feel like I'm relatively active throughout my day, which would be interesting to see how many calories I burn in a day. The real question is how will Pebble stand up to Apple and Android watches? We will have to wait and see, but I think they are already ahead of them.
